Klares is a New York product and former NCAA D1 player at UMass. Over the years, Klares has established himself as a leading figure in coaching and lacrosse mentorship. His directorship at Battlelax and later with GOBIG Gorillas, as well as his role as an Under Armor All American Evaluator, reflects his deep involvement in the sport. Rich's international presence is unmistakable, having been associated with the Scottish National Team, the Jamaican National Team, and even lending his expertise at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. His association with renowned professionals like Paul Rabil, John Grant Jr., Matt Rambo, and several others reinforces his commitment to the game.
The founder of GoBIG Sports LLC and the Associate Head Coach for the Charlotte Groove in the NLA, Klares' accomplishments speak volumes. His accolades include 5 Coaches of the Year awards, 7 District titles, and impressive State and NJCAA Tournament appearances. In the last decade, every senior he has coached received an offer to play in college, with 17 committing to D1, 4 turning professional, and 5 taking up roles as college coaches. With Rich Klares leading the way, future lacrosse stars at BKLC are in adept hands, ensuring they too will shine brightly under his guidance.
